Therapy is going well...but I'm still a Mogaholic!!

Hi Guys!!

So for this weeks blog I have some update mogs for you, including some mounts as well, (because we all like a mount that matches our mog) So sit back, relax, grab your brews and maybe some diva sunglasses, because darlings...this is going to be FABULOUS!!

My Druid's BoomCow Mog, I was going for a shiny astral kind of look, it's the tier11 Stormriders regalia which I chose because it goes really nicely with my boomkin spec.

My DK's UH PvP set and mount, all the Fel Iron Blacksmithing recipes, and of course the netherwing drake to match!

DK's Frost set, which I use the Frostbrood vanquisher mount for her.
THe shoulders are the Heaving plates of protection, and the chest piece is the Breastplate of Retribution. The rest of the set is the Acherus knight set, which can be bought by all DK's. (Not sure about other classes though, unlikely!)

Lazeebows PvP set, the Gladiators pursuit. (Feat. Ed)

The mount I have with my Stikers set.

My Mage, not sure what look we're going for here, the staff and hood are from Black Temple, the shoulders are the tier set from Black Temple, and the robe is some random thing that I picked up from goodnessknows where!
My rogue's current set it the Slayers armor from Tier 6, most of which can be picked up in Black temple, the dagger comes from Tempest Keep and the helm and cloak were random drops.

My monk's challenge mode gear and mount (above) and my first healing set transmog (below), I called it "The Ice" and it was made of bits and pieces from all over the place, and still one of my favorites.

That's it for now, I do have some other but the post was getting rather long, and I'd like to save some ;)

Monday 12 May 2014

We interrupt this broadcast for a very important announcement!!

Calling ALL EU players that would like to find a guild for Warlords of Draenor.....

My current guild Midlifecrisis on Darkspear EU is on a recruitment spree for WoD, and guess who is at the helm of this spree? Yup! Yours truly!! So...I would ask that you share this post about to anyone you think might be interested in joining our team for WoD and for the end of the current expansion.

I don't care if your lacking in experience, if you have a willingness to learn and good team ethics we have people in the guild who can train you up and help you learn whatever class you are playing, or even introduce you to a new class if you're still clinging onto that 90 boost!!

I am going to just copy and paste my recruitment post info below, please please please help me get this out and about, we need to take on about 6-10 players to be comfortable going into WoD, I appreciate any help I can get with this and I'm sorry in advance if I annoy folk by spamming recruitment stuff!! (but if I get people in quickly I will spam less ;) )

We were running 2 10 man raid groups up until a few months ago, when people had to sit out for exams and other RL activities, so we are currently just running the one 10 man group, which is sitting at Heroic Spoils of Pandaria progress.

We would really like to expand our numbers in preperation for Warlords of Draenor, so that when the Mythic raiding comes into play, we have 20 strong team members ready to rock and roll.

I appreciate that the Darkspear server is quiet on the Horde side at the moment, with connected realms seemingly on hold it is getting harder to recruit from the server itself. I would not expect anyone to just up and pay for a transfer, thanks to X-realm raiding we can have people on trial, for you as well as us. If the guild doesn't seem like your particular brand of tea then you needn't waste the money on a transfer!

Our raid times are Sun-thur 20:30st - 00:00st

What we are about and what we can offer you:

Fun, but progressive - we like to enjoy our raid times, people pay their subs to relax and have fun with friends, and hopefully get some nice rewards along the way. Nothing feels better than getting a boss down for the first time!!

A friendly atmosphere - we have all sorts of people from all corners of the EU on our roster. Friendly and helpful officers, veteran players and MoP babys like myself! There is always someone online to chat to/jump in an LFR/BG/World boss group with.

A home - Even if you would just like to apply as a social member, we can provide a home for you. We currently have quite a few social members that do not participate in raids, but like to engage in things like, levelling alts, PvP, pets battles etc.

Raiding - At the moment we currently have enough people to run a 10 man group comfortably. This does mean that a certain amount of people would not get to raid every night until 6.0 drops. However...if we can get enough people, we can re ignite our second 10 man group, which I would love to see happen!

What we would expect from you:

As a raider:
A good attitude to teamwork.
Sound knowledge of your class and a willingness to learn more.
Flexibility - sometimes we may need to bench people for certain fights, or we may not have enough raid space to take everyone until 6.0. so we would ask that people can be patient while we are in this recruiting process!

As a Social:
A nice attitude.
Cookies. (They may or may not be for me)

If you feel like trying us out, or want to know more, you can visit our website at http://mlc.enjin.com/recruitment or you can add me on Btag Snoopkitten#2104. Just include the word MLC in your friend request!!

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and hopefully I will hear from some of you soon!!

Builds for Bosses Pt 5 - Return of the trinkets.

Happy Friday guys!

I hope everyone has had a lovely week, today I am going to attempt something a bit brave, I am going to go through all my trinkets and explain why I like them and which bosses I like use them for.

So, as usual, grab your brew (I've got some Monster energy drink today) and relax, and let me explain why I have become known as a Trinket collector in my guild.....

Ok so, collector is actually not the term my guildies use, I believe the correct term is "Trinket Whore", as I seem to have developed a rather large fancy for collecting as many trinkets as I can and then using them for various different fights!! It's all In jest though, because if I didn't have them, I wouldn't be able to take all the damages for my squishy little buddies ;)

So, without further a do, here are my Agi based trinkets (leaving out the healing ones for another post) what I think about each one and where I would use it.

Rooks Unlucky Talisman (553) This trinket, as suggested by its name, drops from The Fallen Protectors, the second encounter in Seige of Orgrimmar. Upon initial glancing I did not actually see much use for this trinket for myself, in other words, it didn't have crit or mastery on, so I was not interested!! However....this trinket has found a place in my toolkit, it's perfect for the Malkorok fight, more specifically the Blood Rage phase. The damage Malkorok deals is classed as AOE creature damage, so any tank stood in that with the trinket up is going to take 38% less of it, and as a Brewmaster, with our stagger of course can take even less ;)

Curse of Hubris (559) This drops from Garrosh himself. At first I really wanted this trinket, the crit boost was attractive as hell as I was running a huge crit build at the time. Upon recieving said trinket (Felxible version at the time) I quickly discovered that it was actually kind of useless for me. It messed up the timer on my Synapse Springs (they seem to share some sort of timer), which for me is a huge deal as I literally use them every time they are up. The lack of the 1 minute Agility boost compared with the 9k crit every 1.5 minutes was too much of a loss for me. Also, the stamina is again, not overly attractive for someone who doesn't really build that heavily into it.

Ticking Ebon Detonator (553) This one drops off Seigemaster Blackfuse, it's a funny trinket as there seems to have been a lot of question as to whether it is a DPS or tank trinket. I actually use it as one of my base trinkets on my tank, and I do not often swap it out. The overall procs contribute nicely to my overall damage output, and although I still think that tanks should be tanks and not an extra DPS, as I raid in a 10 man group, me having the extra damage for progress helps a hell of a lot.

Vial of Living Corruption (553) Dropping off the mighty Malkorok, this trinket is one of my best tools for progress and for certain fights. The reduction of cooldowns for certain fights makes them so much easier, especially on progress. Personally I still use this trinket for the Iron Juggernaut (Normal and Heroic), General Nazgrim (Heroic only to deal with the Execute) and Thok the Bloodthirsty (Normal, not attempted on Heroic!).

Sigil of Rampage (553) This was the first trinket on normal level that I picked up, it drops from Spoils of Pandaria and is "technically" a DPS trinket. It has no base stat, and basically gives you a cleave. At the time I had no other viable options to use so I used this for quite some time. Today I will swap it in for normal Galakras to give myself more damage, to speed up the fight. A place NOT to use this trinket....Garrosh Hellscream, when he casts the Empowered Whirling Corruption, having this trinket on makes you a magnet for the little adds that spring out of the ground. This is fine if you intend to kite them but if you are only 10 man, your raid will likely want to kill them, and trying to take an add off a Brewmaster with full vengeance as a DPS is near impossible, so I would not recommend it for this fight at all :D

Haromm's Talisman (553) Another DPS trinket, dropping from the Dark Shamans, this is a massive DPs increase, I use this trinket for farm bosses, it works really nicely with the Sigil for Galakras, if you add in the DPS cloak too, you can pick up some awesome dps on this particular fight. I also like to use it for Thok, as i solo tank this fight I pick up a lot of vengeance and can therefore do insane amounts of damage overall which just makes the fight go a lot quicker for the group.

Juggernauts Focusing Crystal (553) This trinket drops from Iron Juggs, and is a really nice trinket on any fight where you are going to get a large amount of vengeance, as the healing scales with your own damage output. My particular favorites for this trinket are Thok and Garrosh, as I feel this is where I get the best out of it. It can be quite nice for progress fights to help out the healers a little while they are adjusting, but by no means rely on it, in the big scheme of things, I personally find other trinket combinations better.

A quick fight by fight overview, I will give the trinkets I use for all 3 of the following scenarios; Farm (this will be at normal level), Heroic, Progress (This could be Heroic or back when I was progressing on nomrmal)

Immersius:   Ebon Detonator + Haromm's (Farm)
Ebon Detonator + Juggs Crystal (Heroic/progress)

Fallen Prots: Ebon Detonator + Haromm's (Farm/Heroic/Progress)

Norushen: Ebon Detonator + Haromm's (Farm)
                  Ebon Detonator + Vial (Heroic/progress)

Sha: Ebon Detonator + Sigil (Farm - I pick up adds so the sigil is nice for those)
Ebon Detonator + Juggs Crystal (Heroic/progress)

Galakras: Sigil + Haromm's + DPS cloak (Farm)
Ebon Detonator + Sigil + Tank cloak (Heroic/progress)

Iron Juggabug: Vial + Ebon Detonator (Farm/Heroic/progress)

Shammys: Ebon Detonator + Harrom's (Farm/Heroic/progress)

The General: Ebon Detonator + Sigil (Farm)
                      Vial + Juggs Crystal (Heroic/progress)

(I should point out that from here on I have no more Heroic experiences on my tank!)

Malkorok: Ebon Detonator + Rook's Unlucky Talisman (Farm/Progress)

Spoils: Haromm's + Sigil (Farm/progress)

Thok: Vial + Juggs Crystal (Farm/progress)

Seigecrafter: Ebon Detonator + Haromm's (Farm)
                     Ebon Detonator + Vial (Progress)

Paragons: Ebon Detonator + Haromm's (Farm/progress)

Garrosh: Ebon Detonator + Haromm's (Farm)
Ebon Detonator + Juggs Crystal (Progress)

This is by no means the trinkets you HAVE to use for each fight, just my personal preferences. Going from having no trinkets and little experience (thinking back to this post) to having all of the trinkets and a lot more experience makes me realize how much I've grown and changed, and how much better my tanking has gotten :) Any questions or suggestions, as always, feel free to comment below or message me on twitter!! Have a great week guys and be good ;)

Dark :)

What a long, Strange Trip it's been!

Happy Friday guys!!

Soooo, this week I completed my achievement. I have spent a little while this morning taking some screenies of the titles and outfits I have collected over the last year, so join me on my own long strange trip, which began a year ago, a month or so after i started playing WoW.....

The first full achievement I actually got was the Flame Keeper one where you have to honor flames in various parts of  the world. One memorable moment had me running on foot out of Ironforge with 3 low level Alliance cheering at me as I hurtled past them with half the city chasing me!

The Next achievement was the Brewfest, which I REALLY wanted the title from being a Brewmaster, memorable moment for this was having about 30 people join me for a dance for around 5 minutes for no reason outside Orgrimmar!

Following the Brewfest was my favorite achievement, Hallows End. As a huge Halloween  nut anyway I loved all of the events, mini achievements and dailies, I was particularly pleased with my Feline Familiar, which I named Sooty in memory of a black cat we had when I was a child.

The Pilgrim festival (although not required for the meta) was fun, I loved the cooking aspect of it!

Winters Veil gave me an opportunity to make a nice holiday card for our raid group, we posed in front of General Nazgrim mid raid as he was also wearing a festive hat, which i thought was a really nice touch by blizzard.

The lunar festival was quite a grind, in a similar style to honoring the flames, you have to honor various Elders around the world instead. I did however, love the lantern and the suit that I obtained from this festival!

The love is in the air festival still plays host to my most read blog post where I sent a huge valentine to various people. It's really refreshing to know that being nice inspires happiness and kindness in others, I had some really nice personal messages following that post, I plan to do something similar every year.

Noblegarden, I actually started playing WoW about 2 weeks before this started back in 2013. Not really knowing much about the game, I went and did a few achievements, but it wasn't until the fire festival I discovered the overall meta and decided to go for it. This year, doing the achievements was fun, I ran various bg's to throw bunny ears on people, I sat outside Stormwind and had a dance with some Alliance while trying to find a female Worgen to bestow my bunny ears on!

Finally Childrens week came around. I had an agonising time in BG's trying to get the achievements there as every man and his dog were doing them. After hours of this horrendous activity I finally had the required achievements, and then realized I needed 2 recipes that were rare drop chances...I spent 2 hours farming them both to no avail.
Returned to the AH to find that someone was actually selling the lovely cupcakes so I purchased those and continued with my hunt for the chocolate cake. Finally i gave in and decided to wait on a guildy, in hope that they would have the recipe having played the game since vanilla. However, before they could get online, something totally expected and wonderful happened. I was doing the orphan quests, taking my little baby orc to visit Lady SW in Undercity. While I was there I saw a warrior on the same quest, so I /s'd him/her and asked if by any chance they had the cake. I was ignored and they flew away. An hour later and still fuming at peoples ignorance I received a whisper from a Mage that I didn't know asking if I still needed the cake. Intrigued and surprised I replied, saying yes I did, and then asked how they knew I needed it, as I adn't actually told anyone at that point, nor had I ever seen this Mage before. (I should point out here that the cake, at this point was the last achievement I needed to get me the whole meta and proto drake)
The response was awesome "Oh, no, you don't know me at all, I saw you ask that warrior in Undercity earlier and they ignored you, I have the cake but I've been trying to find you for an hour as you have a funny accent in your name so I couldn't find it to whisper you right away." I arranged to meet the Mage in the shrine and when they traded me the cake I tried to trade a thousand gold in thanks, which they then refused to take. Upon getting my achievement and drake, the Mage congratulated me. All my faith in gamer humanity has been restored, what a lovely thing to do for someone you have never even met before. Although it may have meant nothing to them it was a huge deal for me, so, thank you Arkhul, you are a great person and I hope some day, someone does the same for you, you deserve it!
